Overview
Welcome to our Namecheap Review. Namecheap started as a domain registrar in 2000, and have since added many additional services, including hosting and email.
There are so many hosting options available to you, how do you choose? BlueHost or GoDaddy are arguably the most popular choices, but don’t overlook the benefits of Namecheap. Just as their name suggests, their services are often cheaper, but that does not mean their service is not stellar.
Just as their name suggests, Namecheap‘s services are often cheaper than their competitors. They are currently offering up to 67% OFF their hosting packages.
One of the great benefits of shared hosting with Namecheap is that even with their starter (Stellar) plan, you get unmetered bandwidth.
All shared hosting plans also include a free website builder, domain name (Premium domain names are not eligible), privacy protection, free SSL certificate, free SSL installation, cPanel, email service, and 24/7 support.
Not familiar with Shared hosting? With Shared Hosting, you share your resources with other website owners. This means that if someone else’s website gets a lot of traffic, you may experience downtime. If you don’t want to risk slow-down times, you may be better-off with WordPress managed hosting.
WordPress Hosting:
Namecheap also offers WordPress hosting for building your website, if you do not want to go the Shared Hosting route. Undecided? No problem. They offer a FREE 30-day trial with no commitment.
Not only is their WordPress hosting (EasyWP) cheaper than their competitors, but they also boast the fastest speed as well.
There are three additional hosting options through Namecheap – VPS hosting, Reseller hosting, and Dedicated Server hosting. I am assuming, if you are here, you are looking for basic hosting services, so I am not including the details for these hosting options in this blog post, but here is a quick snapshot:
VPS Hosting – more powerful than Shared Hosting, where you still technically “share” the server with others but you have more control over how you use the virtual space.
Reseller Hosting – a type of web hosting that allows you (the reseller) to purchase a hosting provider’s resources wholesale and resell them to your clients for a profit.
Dedicated Servers for hosting let you benefit from every resource available such as RAM, storage, computing power, etc.
Migration
Do you already have your website with another company, but are unhappy? Namecheap offers website migration with a guarantee! If your migration takes longer than 24 hours, your first year is free! How is that for service?
Support
As with many other companies these days, Namecheap has migrated away from traditional phone support. Their Help Center does offer a myriad of other options, though, including how-to-videos and walk-throughs. If you can’t find the answers in the Help Center, you can submit a ticket or get on a live chat.
Bottom Line
In conclusion, if you are looking for an alternative to BlueHost or GoDaddy, or any of the other hosting companies out there, if you are just starting out, or are on a tight budget, Namecheap may be the right choice for you. They offer great services at cheaper prices, and even their lowest-level plans offer more value than most of the other entry-level company plans out there.
